Privacy notice

Johnson Power Rankings ("JPR") publishes weekly, data-driven world rankings for ultramarathon runners. We process the following personal data from publicly available race results: athlete names, birth years, nationalities, and race performance data (finish times, distances, placements). We do not collect email addresses, physical addresses, or other contact information except when voluntarily submitted through our removal-request form below.

Lawful basis

We process this data under legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Publishing transparent rankings of publicly competed athletic events serves the ultramarathon community — athletes, fans, media, and race organizers.

Your rights

You may request removal of your data from our public rankings, correction of inaccurate information, or a copy of the data we hold about you. We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours and complete processing within 30 days. To submit a request, please email the JPR team or use the form that will be available here at launch.

Data minimization

We publish birth year (not full date of birth) and do not display contact information. Raw timing-platform data is stored securely for audit purposes and is not publicly accessible.

Race results are sourced from public timing platforms and results databases. See the methodology page for details on the sources and the ranking formula.
